In Japanese, “yaki” means grilled or fired, and these small vegetable and meat skewers are a summertime favorite. For a more traditional flavor, cook over a charcoal grill – shrimp, snap peas, mushrooms, brussel sprouts, okra, cauliflower, broccoli, or any meat & vegetable works! 

  1. Skewer choice meats & vegetables on small skewers  

  2. Dip each skewer in tare sauce, place on grill. Continue to brush skewers with tare throughout cooking process.

  3. Grill until desired doneness.  

  4. Top with chopped scallions & sesame dressing 

Tare recipe: 

Combine 1/4 cup sake, 1/4 cup mirin, 1/2 cup soy sauce.  

*substitute water for sake/ mirin
