It feels like a good day to make a cake & eat it too π° π We're dreaming about our Green Tea Pound Cake with Miso Caramel ice cream courtesy of The Parlour.
Ingredients
2 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 cup matcha powder
1.5 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup butter
2 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup whole milk
Zest of 1 lemon
Instructions
Preheat oven to 250 degrees
Cream butter & sugar with a paddle until very fluffy
Incrementally mix in eggs, lemon zest, & vanilla, followed by matcha powder, baking powder & salt, & then milk, whipping until fluffy after each addition
Add flour to mix, fold with a spatula by hand until smooth & uniform
Pour into oiled cake pan
Bake at 250 degrees for about 2.5 hours β check after 2 hours!
Test cake doneness with skewer β when it comes out clean, the top is golden brown, & the cake feels βspringy,β remove from oven.
Flip cakes onto parchment-lined tray
Sift powdered sugar on top if desired & add scoop of ice cream
